comer menos carne por favor

Less meat Please

Why to eat less meat?

1. When you eat meat, very often an animal has suffered. We, the osos, are animals and we do not want our friends to suffer.
2. Part of the meat you eat has been produced in macro-farms, that have a very negative impact in the environment.
3. Eating meat every day is bad for your health. If you don’t trust us osos, ask your doctor.
4. There are many vegetarian dishes that are delicious and that will help you to have an equilibrated and healthy diet. Here, we will show you some of them.

cuida-de-tu-planta

Take care of a plant

As you know by now, we tropical osos live in Spain and share the apartment with humans. They take care of all the things they call « bills » and for that they have to go to work and earn money. Some days their work is fine and they come to our home enthusiastically. On other days they come back home more tired. On those days we observed that they feel much better when they spent some time in the small forest we grow on the balcony. To help them more, we introduced them in the care of plants. They learnt to follow the growth of a plant, when it needs nutrients or repotting. They enjoy their company a lot. This helps leave the work behind and go back to nature!

compensa-tu-huella-c02

Compensate your CO2 emissions

Sometimes our humans take the plane. Though it is nice to see the clouds from above, a plane consumes a lot of energy. We read about the increase of CO2 in the atmosphere due to the use of fossil energy by humans. For this it is good we can compensate the CO2, which is produced when we fly. They do this via an organization (atmosfair) that supports different projects. For example, people in Africa get better stoves to cook and need less wood. We think this is a good idea but there are many other organizations for CO2 compensation and you can choose what you like best.

reducir-reusar-reciclar

Reduce, reuse, recycle

When we all moved to the attic here, it came as a shock to us how many things we had accumulated in our place before. A lot of them were just resting in a cupboard or on a shellf. Then we decided to think twice before we buy something, if we really need it or if it will be just stored away. We also try to use things more than once: most paper bags from the fruit shops you can use at least a second time and less paper needs to be produced. Or take a bag with you for the groceries and you don’t have to buy another plastic bag. Some things cannot have a second life and those we recycle. Maybe a small part of our orange juice bottle was before a bottle for a world class Godello wine? We like to believe this…

buenos-recuerdos

Good memories

We propose you an exercise: stop what you are doing for a moment, take paper and pen and write 10 good memories of your life. At the beginning, it will possibly take you a little time but as soon as you start, you will see that after the first 10 good memories, more will come. When writing, for sure you will recover the good feelings you experienced when you lived those moments. They could be things that happened a long time ago or something you lived yesterday. In our everyday life we are sometimes so busy that we forget to think about the good things that happen to us.

comercio-justo

Fair trade

Do you think your salary is good for the work you are doing? We think everybody would like to get wages that are adequate for their work and allow to have a decent life. In Europe, we experience that this is now difficult for some people because unfortunately the ideas of Milton Friedman got followers here as well. But for people in non developed countries, this has been a problem for a long time. For this we are happy products exist, where often small producers are favored and people get a fair salary for their work: products from fair trade. Yes, they have often a higher price but we believe that everybody should get a fair salary.
